In the historic Linthouse Engine Shop you can explore a substantial part of the collection, including small vessels, machine tools, engines and other items, currently displayed as an 'open store'. The Museum Boatshop is situated on Irvine's harbourside, where you will find exhibitions, maritime artwork, ship models and the museum shop. Guided tours start here throughout the day.

On a tour you will visit the Shipyard Workers Tenement Flat (a chance to see a 'room and kitchen' restored to its pre 1920's appearance). The puffer 'Spartan' is currently under restoration on the museum slipway.

The Museum shop, stocks a wide selection of general and maritime souvenirs, books and videos.
